Jool Tool

I've been watching videos of the Jool Tool.

Has anyone tried it? I'm always looking for ways to make my workflow more efficient and wonder if this tool would help speed up my finishing time.

Happy holidays, my fellow mountmakers!

I was certainly drooling watching the video! I love that you can see the work in real time while polishing. It's a bit expensive for my tastes though. it might be worth exploring some of the 3M pads and test them out on the ol drill press first? That's typically what I use if I need to polish a mount. Or the fordem for more detailed work.

My first thought is that I seldom need a polished mount. I usually need a clean, but scuffed or sand-basted, mount to better take paint. Initially it seems like bulkier mounts would be harder to work on with this tool as well. I absolutely adore my cheap Harbor Freight 1" upright sander for finish work. In conjunction with the larger 4-6" uprights. The 1" allows for mounts to easily be finished up as you can have them slip behind the belt so easily.

I've used these for years and love them. Also, $40-$50 compared to $500-$900 would be another selling point for me.
