What advice do you have for outdoor mounts in sub-optimal conditions?
I have been tasked with remounting objects in a private collection that will remain in sub-optimal climate. Most of the objects are wood. They will be displayed indefinitely in open air corridors that receive sea breeze. The area is prone to earthquakes (and even worse, humans.) The owner dislikes the idea of enclosing the objects behind plex and the display conditions are outside of my control. I have been stressing trying to find a solution that still remains elegant and mitigates any future damage.. I feel that poly-suede or poly-felt wont last the test of time and may hold salt and moisture against the objects. So far the plan is to use stainless mounts formed with Apoxi. Does anyone have suggestions on padding and outdoor mounts in general?

Maybe a closed cell foam padding like Volara?
