Gallery lighting 25PAR46 spot replacement

Hi all,

first time poster here.

We have some lighting fixture in our older galleries that use 25watt par46 spots.

these lamps have been discontinued for sometime now. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a good direct replacement for them.

I have never found an LED that can produce the same quality of spotlight and I'm not sure if there are any other halogens that will run in theses fixtures.

Any recommendations are helpful.

I looked around briefly and don't have any specific recommendations for direct replacement. How many luminaires need replacement, and does it make sense to consider some kind of retrofit/adaptors to offer more flexibility? Alternatively, perhaps you could look into line voltage fixtures secured on truss rod?

Sorry but sometimes when it comes to lighting, we need to consider creative workarounds that involve electrical engineer approvals.

Postcard wall display

Does anyone have any clever, simple, archival solutions for hanging a salon style wall of many art postcards? Most of the cards are 4x6ish with some larger. They will each need to have some sort of "sneeze guard" for the public (acrylic/optium). They will also need to be secured on all sides. I would like the postcards to not be pressed against the acrylic so they might need a barrier like silicone release mylar? One idea is to secure them to the wall with something like L-pins. The problem is that it would require 6-8 L-pins to secure them on all sides and that might be too busy. Also strangely enough, sourcing small silver L-pins is quite impossible. They don't seem to be available anywhere. We are toying with magnets and standoffs, but everything seems to fall short. Any ideas welcome!

How many are "many" and what are the art postcards made of (printed, pastel, acrylic)? There probably is a simpler version... but if you mylar wrap each postcard against 4-ply cotton rag mat board you could use velcro to the wall and then put an acrylic sneeze guard over the grouping. Again, pretty labor intensive, but safe for the postcards and no L pins...

Adjustable mount post

Hi all,

Anyone have knowledge of a small adjustable joint for a mount post that could either be straight to go to a deck or be adjusted 90* to go to a backboard?

I could make them but the client has a large amount of objects and it would be very time consuming. The designer wants to be able to use the mounts in different situations.

Any ideas?

ISO VHB tape alternative

Hi Everyone!

We have been using 3M's 5925 black VHB tape for years but recently it has not be holding well. Does anyone have alternatives that they use for moutning Sintra and other labels? I've just purchased Gorilla's Heavy Duty Mounting Tape and Xfasten's Extreme Mounting tape to see if they work better for us. Thanks in advance!
