Hello all, We are in need of ideas on how to weigh (or estimate the weight of) a crate that is outgoing. We do not have a scale here that will accomodate the size of the crate. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas to this end. Thank you, June

Hello all, I'm cross-posting this in here as well, but see below. Thank you for any and all recommendations. My institution is looking for a company in the intermountain west (or west in general) that can manufacture acrylic case tops, as well as hopefully the actual plinth as well. We are specifically looking for companies with the ability to do clean, clear and bubble free corners. Please contact me at:june.d.macdonald@utah.edu june.d.macdonad@utah.edu

Hi all, I am reaching out to find solutions for a hanging mount for japanese scrolls. We have a dedicated wall case for ours now, which is lined with fabric, so we can no longer attach via screws and hooks like previous as we cannot puncture the fabric. I have a general idea on how to accomplish this, but was wondering if anyone had suggestions for something that could slide the top hanging hook up and down a bit of picture wire or something of the like? Thinking like a collet type thing, but I wasn't sure and wanted to see what others have done. Thank you! -June.

Hello all, my institution has just had quite a bit of turnover in our collections department, and I (objects preparator, and printmaker by trade) am being asked to add backing boards to several paintings in our collection that do not have them. Our conservator is also new, and a paper specialist (go figure, we're both paper people) and does not have experience backing stretched paintings within frames. Our intention is to use blue board, but it seems the previous preparator used non-reversible/permanent methods for fixing boards to the back. Long story short, is there a reversible way to mount a backing board to a stretched painting in the frame without drilling holes? Thank you in advance!
